8. Pythons

Pythons are one of only two species of snakes that “are physically capable of swallowing an adult human,” the other being the green anaconda. Pythons “are among the few snakes that have been suggested to prey on humans” and “a few cases of a snake species consuming human beings have been authenticated.”

“There are multiple documented cases of medium-sized (10 to 13 foot) captive Burmese pythons constricting and killing humans, including several non-intoxicated, healthy adult men, one of whom was a ‘student’ zookeeper.
