2. Polar Bears

They’re playful at the zoo and cute beyond compare in those Coke commercials, but polar bears are “the only species of bear that will actively hunt people for food.” Although man-eating attacks are rare, they’re known to occur “when the animals are diseased or natural prey is scarce.” (source: Wikipedia)

One of the more horrific attacks occurred in Point Lay, Alaska in December 1990, when 28-year-old Carl Stalker “was walking with his girlfriend (and) was chased and consumed in the middle of the town.” (source: Wikipedia)
