Rip
“Rip was a Terrier and untrained Search and Rescue dog that was discovered after an air raid in London during WWII. This tiny dog was nursed back to health and turned into an Air Raid Patrol mascot.
“Due to his tenacity and excellent tracking skills, Rip helped locate and save over 100 people who had been buried or trapped under rubble from additional air raids. In fact, if it wasn’t for Rip, the British Military would have been delayed in their decision to begin training other dogs to track down survivors of attacks, which is a practice that continues to this day in Search and Rescue.” – Source: PuppyLoverNews.com
