Muth’s Truths: June 4, 2017

That so-called “apology” by Kathy Griffin for the photo of her holding up a replica of President Donald Trump’s bloody, severed head was as phony as those fake tears of former President Bill Clinton at Ron Brown’s funeral.

And her pretense of being shocked by the outraged negative response to her stunt is just pure, flat-out lying.  Indeed, here’s what this no-talent, low-life said in a video that was shot as she and that scuzzball photographer did the photo shoot…

“We have to move to Mexico today, because we’re going to go to prison, federal prison.  Call your dad, apologize, and let’s you, me and Daryl go to Mexico today. Because we’re not surviving this. OK?”

So she knew EXACTLY what she was doing.  And she knew EXACTLY the response she’d get.  And she did it anyway.  She deserves no sympathy. Nobody should cut her any slack.  And nobody should believe for a minute that her “apology” was genuine.

Her “career,” such as it was, SHOULD be over.  She exercised her right to free speech.  Fine.  Now everyone else should exercise their right to refuse to hire her or refuse to patronize anyone who does.

So let it be written; so let it be done.

Cheers.

Nevada’s #1 Irritator of Liberals and RINOs

P.S.  HBO chatfest host Bill Maher has apologized for jokingly using the term “house-nigger” during his show Friday night.

I can’t stand Maher.  He’s a radicalized liberal and world-class a-hole.  But the context of his use of the term wasn’t racist.  It was as historically accurate as using the term “Uncle Tom.”

But Maher, despite being a hopeless lefty, is white.  And no white person is allowed to use the n-word EVER, under any circumstance, without being called a racist – despite the fact that ghetto blacks use it almost as frequently and without consequence as dropping f-bombs.  It’s total hypocrisy.

Of course, if Maher was a conservative or a Republican, Al Sharpton today would be toting around a replica of Maher’s bloody, severed head and calling for HBO to fire him.  But since he’s not, Maher will get a slap on the wrist and a free pass from the race-hustling gang.  Again, total hypocrisy.

NEVADA NEWS & VIEWS

The conservative “hill to die for” in the 2017 Nevada legislative session was Education Savings Accounts, thanks to Gov. Brian Sandoval’s failure to fund the voucher-like program as part of last October’s special session to approve the new Las Vegas stadium.

Sandoval, negotiating with himself, only asked for $60 million – well less than half of what’s needed to fund the accounts for all 10,000+ families who have already signed up for the program.  Nevertheless, the governor insisted that he was 100% committed to securing at least enough funding in his budget to get the program off the ground.

Senate Republicans are on the short end of a 12-9 partisan divide.  But Senate Democrats would need a 2/3 super-majority to pass any tax hikes. And there’s a tax hike included in the Capital Improvements budget.

So here are the various scenarios that could unfold over the next 48 hours…

Two turncoat Republicans in the Senate will break rank and vote with the Democrats to approve the budget with the constitutionally-required 2/3 super-majority.

Or, using some legislative hocus-pocus/mumbo-jumbo, Democrats will find a way to remove the 2/3 super-majority requirement on the Capital Improvement budget and pass it, without ESA funding, with a simple majority.

Now, if the Democrats somehow approve the budget without funding the ESA program, Sandoval could/should veto the budget.  And the Democrats would not have the 2/3 super-majority needed to overturn his veto.  So we’d have to go into a special session, in which the governor has the upper hand, to resolve the issue.

But ol’ poker face has already tipped his hand and declared last week that he will NOT call a special session.  And in order to keep that new promise, Sandoval would have to sell us out (again) and sign a budget with no funding for the ESA program.

Or, Democrat Senate Majority Leader Aaron Ford will cave in and fund the ESA program at some trivial level in exchange for Sandoval signing some liberal bill(s) the Democrats want, that Sandoval would otherwise veto, so as to avoid a special session.

No matter how you slice it, this is going to be coyote ugly thanks to incompetence and total lack of leadership on Sandoval’s part.

But what about the Republicans in the Assembly?

Oh, puh-lease.  Led by the Three Stooges – Minority “Leader” Paul Anderson, Assistant Minority “Leader” James “The Big Selloutski” Oscarson and Assistant Minority “Leader” Jim Wheeler-Dealer – Assembly Republicans are hapless, hopeless and totally irrelevant.  These three couldn’t organize a one-car funeral.

Bottom line: If I had to bet, I’d bet on Republicans killing ESAs in the womb. It’s just their nature.  Sad.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“It is time to say enough is enough.  We cannot and must not pretend that things can continue as they are.  . . . While we have made significant progress in recent years, there is – to be frank – far too much tolerance of extremism in our country.” – British Prime Minister Theresa May on yesterday’s latest terrorist attacks in London
