Caught Again: Another Fake “Mack Attack” by Heidi Kasama

Well, here she goes again.

Back in February, five former Clark County Republican Party chairmen wrote a letter to Assemblywoman Heidi Kasama calling her and her Clark County commission campaign out for using a fake, AI-doctored image of her opponent on signs, mailers, digital ads, etc.

The smear and deception was so bad that the five former chairs – myself included – endorsed her opponent, Albert Mack, in the GOP primary race.

You’d think she’d get the message: Lying and deceiving Republican voters is NOT acceptable.

And you’d be wrong.

Instead, she and her campaign just doubled down.

A new mailer hit GOP mailboxes this weekend which AGAIN features a FAKE AI-generated image of Hillary Clinton lovingly standing next to Albert, smiling at him.

Below their AI-generated headshots is a totally fake cell phone screen image with a totally made-up text conversation.

It goes like this:

Fake Texter #1: “You know Albert Mack?”

Fake Texter #2: “Yeah, he’s that Hillary guy, right?”

Fake Texter #1: “Exactly, he’s no Republican!”

Fake Texter #2: “Heck no. I’d never vote for somebody who supported Clinton.”

Fake Texter #1: “Yeah, well, tell Albert Mack that.”

The back side of the mailer continues:

Fake Texter #2: “I’m sick of it. You want to be a Democrat? Be a Democrat. But don’t be a Democrat and try to tell me you’re a Republican.”

Fake Texter #1: “Tell Albert Mack that.”

Fake Texter #1: “Oh, I will!”

Good Lord.

Not only is the conversation made up, it’s consultant-written, grade-school-level drivel.

Major league lame-o. Yet some consultant got paid big bucks to barf it up.

Two things:

1.) Yes, Mack is a FORMER Democrat.

So am I. So was Ronald Reagan. So is Donald Trump.

Majorities get to lead. And you win majorities by addition, not subtraction.

So Republicans should WELCOME former Democrats – kinda like the prodigal son – who see the light and come over from the “dark side.”

Merely switching party registration does not make you a “RINO” (Republican in Name Only). You need more than that.

Now, there IS a problem when Democrats running for office switch parties for purely political purposes because they reside in a GOP-majority district.

But that’s NOT the case here with Albert.

He switched back around 2020 when the Clark County Commission F seat had a DEMOCRAT majority.

If you’re switching parties just because you want to boost your electoral chances, you would NOT switch from the majority Democrat Party to the minority Republican Party.

Duh.

2.) The only REAL thing Kasama has tying Albert to Clinton is a complimentary tweet he posted way back in October of 2014 – long before he got involved in politics.

But get this…

That tweet was in appreciation for Clinton keynoting the big, annual UNLV Foundation fundraising dinner, which Albert attended.

He and his family have donated MILLIONS of dollars to the UNLV Foundation. So all he did was express gratitude for her helping the university raise money – not for political purposes.

That’s it. That’s all they’ve got to try and trick voters into thinking he’s “That Hillary Guy.”

On the other hand, Albert has now landed the endorsements in this race of:

  • REPUBLICAN Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill
  • REPUBLICAN Lt. Gov. Stavros Anthony
  • REPUBLICAN Assemblywoman Jill Dickman
  • REPUBLICAN former GOP Chairman George Harris
  • REPUBLICAN former GOP Chairman Dave Gibbs
  • REPUBLICAN former GOP Chairman Richard Scotti
  • REPUBLICAN former GOP Chairman Bernie Zadrowski
  • YOUNG REPUBLICANS OF LAS VEGAS
  • YOUNG REPUBLICANS OF NEVADA

Are we supposed to believe they’re all RINOs?

Kasama’s dishonest, scorched-earth campaign against Albert reeks of desperation.

It’s clearly an effort to change the conversation and cover-up her moderate voting record in the Legislature.

And the fact that she voted remotely for the “Hollywood Handout” in last November’s special election…

FROM CABO!

If this is how Kasama is running her campaign, why should voters think she’d conduct herself any differently as a commissioner?

Sadly, as the primary election heats up, I doubt we’ve hit rock bottom of these gutter-level attacks from her and her campaign team.

It’s not a matter of if, but when.

How low will they go?
