(Chuck Muth) – Grab a cup of coffee. This is a long – but important – one.
Now . . . do you fall into any of these categories?
* Candidate
* Campaign Manager
* Political Consultant
* Club or Organization Leader
* Fundraiser
* Grassroots Political Activist
* Concerned Citizen/Voter
If so, read on, McDuff.
Let me start by asking you two simple questions:
1.) Do you think Kamala Harris wrote her book, “107 Days”?
Yeah, nobody does.
2.) Do you think Donald Trump writes his own tweets?
Yeah, everybody does.
But few of us are Donald Trump. And that’s OK. We don’t have to “be” Donald Trump to communicate as effectively as Donald Trump.
Welcome to the wild, wild, wonderful world of AI (artificial intelligence)!
What Would Donald Trump Do?
OK, consider this tweet by Kamala announcing the start of her book tour:
“My new book, 107 Days, comes out tomorrow, September 23. Before you read it, I wanted to take a few moments to reflect on July 21st, the very first day of our campaign — and the entire team that made all 107 days possible. This book is dedicated to them. Through the joy, pain, and personal sacrifice, they left it all on the field, and I am forever grateful. And to the American people — those who supported and believed in our vision for the country, and those who did not — I will never stop fighting for you.”
Ugh. Pretty lame. Pretty boring. Dull. Generic pablum. No real personality. It sucks.
I wonder how Donald Trump would write about the same thing?
So I asked AI to rewrite Kamala’s tweet in the way Donald Trump would. Here’s what came back:
“My brand new book, ‘107 Days,’ comes out TOMORROW — September 23rd! It’s going to be HUGE. July 21st was the very first day of our campaign. People said it couldn’t be done — but we did it, and we did it better than anyone imagined. For 107 days the team gave everything they had. The energy, the sacrifice, the determination — absolutely INCREDIBLE. This book is dedicated to those amazing men and women. True warriors. I will NEVER forget it! And to the GREAT American People — those who stood with us and even those who didn’t (yet!) — I will NEVER stop fighting for you. Together, we are going to keep winning for our country. AMERICA FIRST, ALWAYS!”
See the difference? And it took AI all of 3 seconds to convert it.
From Snooze to Sledgehammer
Now let’s bring this down to the local level. Consider this recent tweet by Nevada congressional candidate State Sen. Carrie Buck:
“To every Democrat who defunded police: walk a mile in the neighborhoods you abandoned. Families live in fear while you live behind gates. I’ll back the blue, fund the force, and make Nevada’s streets safe again.”
Ugh. BORRRR-ING!
What’s wrong with it?
Well, I asked AI to analyze and critique her tweet by identifying its weaknesses as compared to a Trump tweet. Here’s what came back. See if you agree with the analysis:
“Too Formal: It reads like a speechwriter crafted it, not like something said naturally at the dinner table or posted in a heated moment. Phrases like ‘walk a mile in the neighborhoods’ and ‘fund the force’ sound polished, not raw.
“Not Personal Enough: Trump-style messaging usually includes direct outrage, exaggeration for emphasis, and emotional punch (‘DISASTER,’ ‘TOTAL failure,’ “FAMILIES can’t even walk outside”). This version feels restrained.
“Low Energy: No all-caps emphasis, no repetition, no exclamation points. It doesn’t grab eyeballs when scrolling a feed.
“Too Generic: ‘Make Nevada’s streets safe again’ echoes ‘MAGA,’ but feels like a borrowed phrase, not a fresh hammer blow. It could be sharper and more Nevada-specific (examples: ‘Vegas families can’t even let their kids ride bikes,’ ‘Reno businesses getting robbed daily’).
“Overall Effectiveness: On a scale of 1 (weak/forgettable) to 10 (fiery/viral), this tweet is about a 5. It communicates the point, but it’s too polished, too safe, and doesn’t pack the emotional punch that makes people stop scrolling.”
Personally, I’d rate it a 3, at best – but I’m a tough grader.
So how would AI re-write this tweet Trump-style? I asked and received:
“To every Democrat who DEFUNDED the police: SHAME on you! You abandoned our neighborhoods — while hiding behind your fancy gates and armed guards. Families are living in FEAR, kids can’t play outside, businesses are under attack. DISASTER! I will ALWAYS back the BLUE. We will FUND the force, CRUSH the crime, and make Nevada’s streets SAFE again. Law and order is coming back — STRONGER than ever before!”
See the difference?
Trump Isn’t the Only Blueprint
Now here’s the thing: If you know Sen. Buck, you know she’s no “Donald Trump.” I mean, who is, right?
So maybe the above tweet wouldn’t mesh well with her own style and personality.
And that’s fine – but it’s also not the point.
There are TONS of conservatives on X who write effectively about politics with their own style, tone, and tenor. All you have to do is pick one and ask AI to write like THAT person rather than Donald Trump.
Possibilities: Podcaster Megyn Kelly, Turning Point USA’s Riley Gaines, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, FOX News’ Tomi Lahren, former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany, syndicated columnist Ann Coulter, author Mollie Hemingway, etc.
Heck, since Sen. Buck is running for Congress, let’s try again – but this time let’s let AI write a tweet about crime in the style, tone, and tenor of Anna Paulina Luna:
“Let’s talk real life, Nevada. While Democrats party behind iron gates and virtue signal about ‘progress,’ our families face danger just blocks away. I’m not here to play politics – I’m here to expose their hypocrisy. Defunding our police was reckless. I’ll always stand with law enforcement and fight for safe streets, because in my America, law-abiding families come first. We’ll fund our force, back the blue, and restore peace to Nevada.”
Much better, right?
And if you “train” AI right – there are “secrets” to doing this correctly – you don’t even need to mirror other writers. It’ll crank out social media posts and blogs and emails and fundraising appeals in YOUR unique voice – but better.
The Dirty Little Secret: Everyone Uses Ghostwriters
Now let’s dispense with any “ethical” questions about using AI to write campaign messaging by going back to Kamala – and pretty much EVERY big-time elected official or high-profile political candidate.
They ALL use “ghostwriters.” Few – unlike Trump – write their own material. And even much of Trump’s prepared speeches are penned by others – though he spices them up by going off-script throughout.
Indeed, all these politicos hire “press secretaries” and “communications directors” to write their stuff and then approve it for publication.
AI – when used properly – simply does it faster, better, and cheaper.
So why wouldn’t any candidate – from Congress to dog catcher – not use this amazing tool to help get elected?
For that matter, why aren’t all these high-priced/low-talent “professional” political consultants, campaign managers, press secretaries, and communications directors using this new technology in the way I described above?
Ego? Pride? Arrogance? Yeah, that’s part of it.
But they also haven’t taken the time and spent the money to learn how to use all these new AI communications tools the way I have for the last five years.
Campaign “Pros” Are Missing the Boat
I belong to a national AI “mastermind” group of a few hundred entrepreneurs, small business owners, and salespeople led by THE authority on AI marketing and sales, Perry Belcher.
He sends out AI training emails. He records AI training videos. He hosts live three-day AI training conferences (just got back from one in San Diego last week). And he hosts live AI “mentoring” Zoom calls every week.
It costs me $297 per month. But it’s not really a “cost.” It’s an investment. It’s continuing education.
And out of the whole group, I only know of TWO people who are politically active – but neither is a full-time campaign professional.
So where are all the high-priced consultants and campaign managers?
They’re at political conferences instead of marketing and copywriting conferences. That’s why conservative messaging usually stinks on ice and all sounds the same.
Now, to be fair, some of them HAVE discovered ChatGPT. But they haven’t really learned how to use this powerful tool effectively. They’ve only brushed the surface.
As Perry said last week at his “Growth Hacking” conference, “It’s like having Albert Einstein come to your house and asking him to mow the lawn.”
What a waste. All of which brings me to this…
AI Isn’t Just My Thing — It’s Now a Family Affair
I’ll be gone all of next week on a business trip. But don’t weep for me. It’s a conference on a cruise ship sailing around the Caribbean with Perry and around 50 of his AI “students.”
He organizes these cruises twice a year. But here’s the thing…
When attending Perry’s live AI training conferences, Perry is teaching from the stage to a large group of people. I think he had over a thousand last week in San Diego.
But onboard ship? There are unlimited opportunities to sit down with Perry, one-on-one, to talk specifically about how to use AI in your own particular business or organization.
In fact, it was at breakfast while docked in the Bahamas last year where Perry suggested to me some major changes to Nevada News & Views that incorporate the use of various AI tools.
I implemented those changes last January. And Nevada News & Views is now Nevada’s #1 conservative news source for a FRACTION of what other online news outfits spend.
And next week, I’ll get to hunker down with Perry and his team again.
This time, however, I’ll be focusing on how to revolutionize my Campaign Management College training programs and create a “mastermind” for political activists just like his AI marketing group.
Three of my twenty-something “kids” have now joined me on the AI bandwagon. They all were at the San Diego conference last week and will be going on the cruise next week.
My daughter Kristen is mastering AI for copywriting.
My daughter Jenna is mastering AI for graphic design.
And my son-in-law Austin is mastering AI for videos – and has already built me a podcast studio in the casita behind my house.
Together, we’re gonna set the political world on fire. Not just here in Nevada, but across the country – since most of the training programs will be available online, 24/7, from anywhere with a wi-fi signal.
Let me give you another example…
All-Nighter in San Diego: Building Better, Faster, Cheaper
At “Growth Hacking” last week, we learned about a new AI tool that is simply amazing at building websites – all without knowing a single thing about coding or web design!
After Tuesday’s workshops wrapped up, I took the kids to the San Diego Padres game to get some fresh air and blow off some steam. (Padres won 6-0, including a grand slam in the first inning!)
When we got back to our hotel room around 11 o’clock, I went to bed. It’s an “old guy” thing.
But the kids huddled up around the table in our room and started playing around with this new website design tool, trying to figure it out.
They stayed up until around 3:00 am. But by the time they were done, they had taken an old website for a local non-profit organization and completely re-built it with a sparkling new modern design.
I know some political consultants who would charge candidates $2,500 or more for a similar site.
Well, we can now do it for around $250 (including hosting) – a TENTH of what a candidate might otherwise pay.
Think that might be valuable to a local school board candidate who doesn’t have two nickels to rub together? You better believe it.
And In Conclusion
So for the next two weeks, don’t expect to hear much from me.
I need to raise some money to make this new campaign training “mastermind” program a reality – and AFFORDABLE for low-budget campaigns.
In the meantime, our political writers will still be posting articles on Nevada News & Views while I’m gone – I just won’t be cranking out the daily digests “daily.”

P.S. I recorded a short 3-minute “pilot” video introducing what I hope will be the online version of my live Campaign Boot Camp training course for “newbie” candidates.
This first-time-out-of-the-gate video is not exactly an Oscar-winning performance. But we mainly recorded it to figure out how to use all the new camera equipment, tele-prompter, lights, and sound.
If I can raise enough money, I want to be able to put these training workshop up online for FREE – so conservative candidates just getting started will get off on the “right” foot without breaking the bank.
Kinda like Newt’s “GOPAC cassette tapes” from the early 1990s, if you were around back then.
After all, you build a “farm team” from the ground up, not the top down.
If you want to help me make this dream a reality by helping fund the project, click here.
And if you’re a candidate or political activist interested in getting your foot in the door with my FREE twice-a-week “hot tips” email newsletter, click here and sign up.
That’s where I’ll be announcing all the new campaign training “stuff” as it comes online.
Cheers!
FAMOUS LAST WORDS
“Chuck, every candidate in the country ought to be receiving your material because you break it down into learnable things that are just dramatically helpful. I don’t know anybody else in the country who is a one-person university the way you are.” – Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich
