Wars aren’t won or lost on polling

The left is drooling over polling results that came out on Thursday that, get this, show that after all the media hype blaming Republicans for the government shutdown, the public blames Republicans for the government shutdown! Who’d a thunk it?

Erick Erickson of RedState put it this way…

“When I checked into my hotel after eleven last night, there was a backlog of weepy, crying emails from people ready to surrender. Why? Because the GOP has gone from being not liked to being not liked? Because this Congress has gone from being the worst ever to the worst ever?”

And as Erickson points out…

“A Republican Party fretting over polling should consider that polling will rebound in their direction with a victory. The GOP should also consider that some of the negatives in the polls are from their own side angry at their reluctance to actually fight the good fight.”

In Nevada, those Republicans come in the form of Gov. Brian Sandoval and State Senate Minority Leader Moderate Mike Roberson. They are, to borrow an old term, “surrender monkeys.” They have no core convictions, nor the stomach for fighting the opposition. Pure Gumbies.

Republicans lose when wimpy Republicans turn tail and run right in the middle of the battle. The Sandovals and Robersons of the GOP are an even bigger problem that Obama and Reid. If they won’t fight, the least they could do is…SHUT UP!
