Too Much Hutch Sends Activist to the Showers

The Carson City GOP held a candidate forum last night featuring the two Republicans running for lieutenant governor, conservative Sue Lowden and moderate establishment-backed Mark Hutchison.  Here’s a first-hand report from an attendee that was texted to me right after the event.

“After listening to Hutchison I had to come home and take a shower.  I do not see how these ppl sleep at night with all the lies they tell.  Everything you have ever written about this man is true.  What a sleaze!”

And here’s the latest example of what this person is talking about…

Hutch’s campaign – following up on a non-story pushed out this morning by his unofficial press secretary, liberal blogger Jon Ralston – belched out this statement this afternoon:

“Sue Lowden, a Republican candidate running for Nevada Lieutenant Governor in 2014, announced yesterday that she believes U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid is a ‘Reagan Conservative.’”

In the immortal words of Rep. Joe Wilson, “YOU LIE!”

In the radio interview in question, Lowden noted that back in the 1980s, when Ronald Reagan was president, Reid was considered a conservative Democrat…which is true.  Conservative Democrats back then were generally referred to as “Reagan Democrats,” and that’s what Lowden was saying.  She never even came CLOSE to saying Harry Reid is still, today, a “Reagan conservative.

And by the way, the whole thing was a setup by a planted caller on behalf of Hutchison asking about donations Lowden and her husband made to Reid way back in the 1980s totaling all of about $5,000 over a period of ten years.

Now contrast that to the reported $2 MILLION the Lowdens spent personally trying to DEFEAT Reid in 2010!

This attack by Hutch is just total bull-$#!+ and a perfect example of how Hutch’s disingenuous campaign continues to distort the truth – especially how it’s trying to cover up his pro-tax hike voting record and voting record in favor of implementing ObamaCare here in Nevada.

I think I need to go take a shower!
