Tick’s Latest Folly

So what’s Assemblyman Tick Segerblom (D-Trial Lawyers) doing when not crafting legislation to force Victoria’s Secret to hire 300-pound sales gals? Crafting yet another premium-inflating government mandate on Nevada’s insurance companies.

AB 89 would require “health insurance and health care policies to provide coverage for acupuncture treatments, including policies for state and local government employees.” But get this: The bill EXCLUDES Nevada’s plan for Medicaid from the mandate.

So it’s OK to screw private employers who would have to eat the cost of the premium hike to offset the new mandate, but it’s not OK to force the government to provide the same coverage to the state’s poorest citizens. What a peach.
