The television game show “The Price is Right” made its debut on September 4, 1972, with the legendary Bob Barker as its host. It’s the longest-running network game show in the United States.
Four contestants are chosen from the studio audience and are invited to “come on down” to test their pricing knowledge of various consumer products.
After an item is rolled out and displayed, contestants are asked to guess the retail price without going over. Winners are awarded big prizes, such as luxury vacations, appliances and even cars.
Unsuccessful contestants get consolation prizes (“Turtle Wax!”).
Sadly, many Americans these days play a version of the show every time they walk into a grocery store, gas station, drug store, the mall, and even “discount” department stores.
As they load up their shopping carts, they pray the total for their purchase doesn’t go over the total they have in their wallet. Often, they’re embarrassingly forced to “put something back” at the checkout counter because they don’t have enough money to afford everything.
Cost of living increases since 2021 are killing family budgets.
The cost to buy a house is up. The cost to rent an apartment is up. The cost to take a plane, train, or automobile is up. The cost of taking a vacation is up. The cost to hire workers is up. The cost to put food on your table is up.
And Sen. Rosen voted for all of it.
She’s voted for every piece of Biden’s economic agenda (“Bidenomics”), claiming it would “bring much-needed relief to Nevadans.” Which, of course, it hasn’t. Just look at your grocery bill.
In fact, Larry Summers, President Obama’s former economic adviser, blasted the plan as the “least responsible economic policy we’ve had in the last 40 years,” while The Economist reported that “the main effect of the president’s economic policies has been to boost prices.”
And then there was Biden’s horribly misnamed “Inflation Reduction Act” – which liberal media outlets such as the Washington Post and Vox admitted had driven inflation up, not down, after its passage.
Even Sen. Rosen herself sort of admitted the failure of “Bidenomics.” In January she tweeted: “Families shouldn’t have to break the bank to put food on the table, but the price of groceries is out of control.”
She’s been in DC almost six years. And she’s supported President Biden and voted for the Democrats’ policies that are sucking money out of your wallet like a turbo-charged vacuum cleaner.
When it comes to product and service after product and service, the price isn’t right. It’s wrong. And Biden Democrats such as Sen. Rosen are responsible for it.
