The speech police busted Voula Papachristou for first degree political incorrectness

Greek triple jump athlete Voula Papachristou was kicked out of the 2012 Olympics two weeks ago for tweeting a harmless (sticks and stones, luv) joke about mosquitoes and how many illegal immigrants from Africa have flooded her country.

But while some have called the high-jumper a racist, apparently she had a valid point.  Consider this newswire story I just read this morning:

“Authorities in Greece are rounding up thousands of possible illegal immigrants in a deportation drive to combat what a government official compared to a prehistoric invasion. Greece has long been Europe’s main entry point for illegal immigrants from Asia and Africa. But Greece’s economic problems and high unemployment are making the problem worse than ever.”

“Prehistoric invasion.” Seems to me somebody owes the high-jumping Greek beauty an apology.
