Newt, Mitt or the Dark Horse?

In suspending contracts with Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum yesterday, but not Mike Huckabee and Sarah Palin, FOX News appears to be signaling that it believes Huck and Palin are definitely not serious about running for president, while Gingrich and Santorum certainly are.

If, in fact, Huckabee and Palin, both of whom have very passionate supporters in the GOP, opt not to run, the GOP nomination fight could well boil down to a choice between Gingrich and Mitt Romney.

Unless a “dark horse” with deep pockets and/or serious national fundraising potential can emerge and unite the tea partiers behind him or her.

By the way, did I mention that Herman Cain is speaking at the Lincoln Day dinner in Las Vegas Saturday night?
