I got a kick out of reading Nevada State Sen. “Moderate Mike” Roberson’s Twitter description of himself: “Taxpayer advocate and supporter of limited, effective and efficient government.”
As Moderate Mike took a “Rainbow Curve” on the tax issue last March and now supports socking Nevada’s businesses, consumers and car owners to the tune of $620 million this year,
As for Moderate Mike’s claim to being a conservative who supports limited, effective and efficient government, I will only quote from the author of Conscience of a Conservative, the late, great Sen. Barry Goldwater:
“I have little interest in streamlining government or in making it more efficient, for I mean to reduce its size.”
Moderate Mike is a lot of things – some of which you can actually talk about in polite company – but he’s no limited government, constitutional conservative.
