Lombardo Has the Sword. Question 7 Is the Shield. But Will You Show Up for Battle?

The Enemy Is at the Gates. Today Is No Day for Spectators, Quitters, or Surrender Monkeys.

In light of all the “blue wave” predictions that it’s already over for Nevada Republicans, let me first start out with this infamous quote from Philosopher King and United States Senator Bluto Blutarski:

“Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell, no! And it ain’t over now.”

Some thoughts of my own to add to Sen. Blutarski’s…

Yes, Democrats have turned out in higher numbers during early voting and mail-in ballots. There’s nothing new in that.

And yes, traditionalist Republicans tend to vote in person on Election Day – yours truly included.

But what no one knows – and everyone is only guessing at – is how many non-partisans will actually vote or who they’ll vote for.

And let’s face it, many were registered automatically at the DMV or the welfare office and don’t even know they ARE registered to vote.

And yes, polling has often been way off and indicates a clear anti-GOP bias.

So don’t believe all the doom-and-gloom predictions from the Democrats and their allies in the media.

We hear them every election cycle because that’s what they do to sell papers and discourage Republicans. It’s legal voter suppression.

Now here’s some reality to chew on:

Turnout in midterm elections is ALWAYS lower than during presidential elections.

So Republicans can absolutely win – even in Democrat districts, and without winning the non-partisan vote – if they just do one, simple thing: Vote.

Duh.

Republicans don’t need to register more Republicans – despite the misplaced emphasis party leaders put on such misguided efforts.

Republicans just need more Republican voters to show up and vote Republican.

Duh.

But a lot of Republicans only vote when the presidential race is on the ballot since those races command so much national attention.

And many Republicans don’t vote because they feel overwhelmed by all the candidates and races they know nothing about on their ballot – especially judicial and local non-partisan races.

And I understand the disgust many Republicans have with certain individual Republican candidates who are on their ballot (Exhibit A: Dave Flippo in CD2).

And the overall dissatisfaction many Republican voters have with Republicans in general who campaign like conservatives and then vote like Democrats. (Exhibit B: former Gov. Brian Sandoval).

And the frustration with plug-and-play Republicans who sit around like potted plants and do nothing more than press “Aye” or “Nay.”

But that is NOT an excuse to cut off your nose to spite your face.

So let me make one rather unusual last-minute appeal to Republicans who are thinking of sitting this one out…

Don’t completely fill out your ballot.

You don’t have to. You can leave races blank.

But here’s the one most important race for the future of Nevada that you SHOULD cast a vote for even if you don’t vote for anything else…

LOMBARDO FOR GOVERNOR

Barring multiple major upsets, Democrats will again control both houses of the Legislature next year.

Which means the only thing standing between us and Nevada becoming “East California” is Joe Lombardo and his veto pen.

A-Ron Ford is a thin-skinned, race-obsessed nothing-burger who will do to Nevada what Obama did to the nation: divide us by skin color.

And he gives empty suits a bad name. He’s a two-bit political B-actor who does nothing but repeat memorized lines from his national playwright handlers.

“Lombardo-Trump!” “Billionaires!” “Tariffs!”

Blah, blah, blah. Not an original thought in his skull full of mush.

Even his only claim to fame – suing Trump a bazillion times – is a sham.

He hasn’t done it himself. He simply scribbled his signature on lawsuits that were drafted by somebody else in DC.

He’s the kind of guy who jumps out in front of a parade and tells people he’s leading it. Total political fraud.

He spews DC talking points because all he’s interested in is BEING governor. He has no idea what he’d actually DO as governor.

All sizzle, no steak. All foam, no beer. All hat, no cattle. A tap-dancing show horse, not a workhorse. A lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

And you know what he’ll do on Day One if elected?

Start running for re-election. It’s the only thing he actually knows how to do.

And if you think Nevada was a disaster under Steve Sisolak – and it was – you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet. Wait’ll A-Ron gets done with us. There won’t be anything left.

We won’t be a ghost town. We’ll be a ghost state!

So grab that mail-in ballot you never requested that’s sitting on your kitchen table, mark “Joe Lombardo” for governor, and pop it in the mail.

Or drop it in a drop-box at your nearby election center.

Or show up and cast your ballot in person like me.

It’s political insurance. It costs you nothing.

But it’ll protect you and your family from the “woke” political disaster of A-Ron Ford for the next four years.

And if you really want to protect Nevada for the future, consider checking off one more box…

YES ON 7

If it passes for the second time today, Question 7 means that requiring a photo ID to register to vote and cast a ballot will be cemented in our Constitution for every future election.

Voting in Nevada can’t get any easier. But Question 7 would make it harder to cheat.

However, if Republicans don’t show up and pass it again today, it dies. As does our hope that future election results will be accepted with confidence.

And lastly for your consideration…

HARRIS FOR STATE SENATE

I’ve known George Harris for over 30 years.

And in all that time, most GOP legislators have been nothing but wishy-washy, stand-for-nothing-fall-for-anything, go-along-to-get-along, surrender monkeys.

But I’m sugar-coating it.

If Republicans ever want to get out of their minority status in Carson City, they need to change how they play the game. Dramatically.

They need a disruptor. Somebody to both talk loudly AND carry a big stick.

Somebody not afraid to make a stink and break things. A proverbial bull in the china shop. A wrecking ball. A sledgehammer. A flame-thrower.

Somebody with spirit. Somebody with guts. Somebody willing to pick a fight with the other army like Mel Gibson did in Braveheart.

Or as Sen. Blutarski’s colleague put it:

“We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons, but that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody’s part!”

To which George Harris would reply: “And we’re just the guys to do it!”

So if you’re sick of the Republican wusses in Carson City whose battle cry is, “Thank you, sir, may I have another?”

If you’re tired of Republican cupcakes who are comfortably numb with their door mat status.

If you want someone to show Republicans how to be the opposition party instead of just the minority party.

Check George Harris on your ballot for Senate District 8, grab some popcorn, and watch the sparks and fur fly.

And send up there with him a pair of Thatcher-like, tough-as-nails, anti-establishment, boat-rocking aides-de-camp:

Erica Neely in Assembly District 9 and Kelly Chapman in Assembly District 41.

Newt Gingrich says real change requires real change. And if you’re a conservative who wants real change in Carson City, it starts with sending George, Erica, and Kelly up there.

IN CONCLUSION

If you want to protect Nevada from being “Californicated” over the next four years…

If you want to protect Nevada’s elections for generations to come…

If you want to start down the path towards a conservative Republican majority before the 2031 redrawing of districts after the next census…

Don’t sit on your mail-in ballot…

Don’t sit on your ass…

Don’t sit this one out…

Vote Joe Lombardo for Governor…

Vote YES on 7…

Vote George Harris for Senate District 8..

Vote Erica Neely for Assembly District 9…

And vote Kelly Chapman for Assembly District 41…

Or shut up and stop whining.
