Here’s How Bad the “Dirty Voter List” Problem is in Nevada

(Chuck Muth) – Under the cover of COVID, Nevada switched its June 2020 primary elections to universal mail-in balloting.

Nevadans were assured this was a “one-time” change; however, during a special session of the Legislature held in August of that year, that one-time change was extended to the general election.

A post-election study conducted by the Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF), a non-partisan election integrity enforcement non-profit organization, revealed that not only was Clark County’s Inactive voter list bad, but it’s Active list, as well.

Using figures provided directly from the Clark County elections office, it was discovered that 223,469 of the 1.3 million ballots mailed in the primary were returned by the post office as “undeliverable.”

Not surprisingly, 129,884 of those returned ballots had been sent to Inactive voters who the election department already knew didn’t live where the ballots were mailed.  One can only guess what happened to the ballots that weren’t returned by the post office.

Stunningly, however, 93,585 ballots that were mailed to ACTIVE voters were also returned by the post office.

Clearly, the voter list used by Clark County in the primary election was about as “dirty” as can be.  But apparently nothing has been done to clean it up.

In the subsequent 2020 general election, PILF discovered that 92,367 mail-in ballots to ACTIVE voters were also returned by the post office as “undeliverable to wrong or outdated addresses.”

To put this in perspective, PILF reports that in the 2012, 2014, 2016, and 2018 general elections, “the entire state of Nevada reported only 5,863 mail ballots returned undeliverable in total.”

The good news is the ballots that were returned by the post office couldn’t be used for nefarious purposes unless someone on the “inside” used them to vote – and there’s no evidence (as opposed to mere suspicions) of such occurring.

The bad news is that thousands upon thousands of ballots were likely delivered to addresses where the registered voter at that address no longer lived rather than returned to the election department.

THOSE ballots were ripe for voting fraud.  As Gov. Joe Lombardo noted in his State of the State speech…

“The voter rolls are not clean. You can ask the person next to you if they’re aware of somebody [that] moved out of the house two years ago and they’re still getting their ballots and that ballot’s still available for anybody to grab and take the chance of filling it out.”

To protect the security of Nevada’s elections, voters who no longer live where they’re registered need to be removed from the Active file and switched over to the Inactive file so they are no longer automatically mailed a ballot in future elections.
