I’m surprised I hadn’t thought of this before, but I think maybe one of the reasons most people couldn’t care less about cutting the Nevada university system’s budget has nothing to do with a lack of appreciation and support for education, but a rejection of decades of liberal crap that’s been coming out of most university and college campuses dating all the way back to the hippie days of yester-year.
American universities, in the eyes of many, if not a majority of, Americans have come to be regarded as education’s version of network television in the “old days.” What we need is a FOX News-like higher ed alternative that taxpayers, as opposed to tax eaters, wouldn’t have as much of an objection to. How about Reagan University with Thomas Sowell as president?
