In this week’s new guber-cast, Gov. Jim Gibbons declared, “I will not support use of any stimulus dollars to support new or expanded government programs that will require continued funding from the state.” Hmm. I wonder where I’ve heard that before? Oh, yeah, that’s right…
“(M)embers of the Nevada Legislature ought to insist that one-shot federal ‘stimulus’ money not be used to create new programs which we’ll only have to find additional revenue for down the road once the federal money is gone,” wrote conservative Nevada state Assemblyman Ed Goedhart (R-Amargosa Valley) to his legislative colleagues almost three weeks ago.
To which Senate Minority Leader Bill Raggio responded, “I really don’t think I benefit from the ‘advice’ that you are offering.”
Unlike Sen. Raggio, it appears Gov. Gibbons did benefit from Ed’s advice. And another “Ed-Head” is born!
