About Last Night: Vance Lays the Smackdown on Walz

(Chuck Muth) – Last night’s vice-presidential debate between J.D. Vance and Tim Walz was really the first time many Americans got to see the two other than short clips from the campaign trail.  It was essentially their “coming out” party.

And it didn’t go well for Tampon Tim.

Vance was in command and control the entire debate – including when the hapless, biased moderators broke their word and tried fact-checking him.  As J.D. attempted to fact check the fact-checkers, they turned off his mic.

Walz, on the other hand, looked like the proverbial deer-in-the-headlights throughout.

When asked why he claimed to be at Tiananmen Square when he wasn’t, Kamala’s #2 fumbled and bumbled his way through, ending up attributing his lie to being a “knucklehead.”

He also gave social media warriors a gold mine of material by saying, “I’ve become friends with school shooters.”  Yes, he misspoke.  But the memes write themselves.

What the debate demonstrated is that Kamala made a big mistake tapping Walz as her running mate while Trump hit the jackpot picking Vance.  And it further demonstrated that neither Kamala nor Walz is ready for prime time.

If they were, they’d be doing press conferences and interviews. They’re not.

Lastly, the Vance/Walz debate should put the final nail in the coffin of so-called “journalists” moderating these things.  As with the Trump/Kamala debate, it was three-on-one.

And the bias wasn’t so much in the issues picked, but the way those issues were framed.

For example, the devastation by Hurricane Helene was raised.  But the question wasn’t about the federal response to the catastrophe.  Instead, the CBS moderators asked about “climate change.”  Good grief.

Reporters should report on the news, not try to make and skew it.

Funny note…

After the debate I did a quick 5-minute recap on Channel 13, hosted by Steve Sebelius and matched up against hard-core left-winger Annette Magnus.

One of her buds over at Battle Born (Lack of) Progress wrote after watching it: “I thought the most smug, patronizing, out of touch person I’d see on TV tonight was JD Vance, I was wrong. I wasn’t familiar with Chuck Muth.”

To which the Chicken Lady replied, “Welcome to my personal hell.”

Triggered!  So easy to get under their skin.  As Col. Jessup famously said, “You can’t handle the truth!”

Meanwhile, back at the ranch…

The ACLU has asked the courts to allow it to intervene in our lawsuits over challenges to voters who have moved.  In a KOLO-TV story on their attempt, their executive director claimed we’re trying “to make it harder for people to vote.”

Bull.  We’re trying to make it harder for people WHO DON’T LIVE HERE to vote in our elections.  Why would the ACLU want ballots sent to people who have moved to another state?  Hmm?

FAMOUS LAST WORDS

“Trump/Vance MUST win. I can’t handle 4 years of seeing and hearing Kamala/Walz. That would be cruel and unusual punishment!” – Elon Musk

“The ports are about to be closed. War is erupting in the Middle East. Americans in a disaster area are being ignored. Our borders are wide open. Crime is a tsunami in every blue city. VOTE DEMOCRAT FOR MORE OF THIS.” – James Woods
