A Tale of Two Speaker Votes

The Hill ran the following headline today: “Boehner takes gavel as Speaker of the House on party-line vote.” In other words, not a single Democrat voted for him.

And yet here in Nevada, I guarantee you that most, if not all, Republicans in the state Assembly will vote next month for Democrat John Oceguera – a government employee and union boss – to be Speaker of the Assembly this coming session despite the fact that he supports higher taxes while opposing school choice and did everything in his power to defeat Republicans in the last election.

There’s a word to explain this kind of insane behavior, but I don’t think I can use it in a family publication.
