A Reprehensible Commercial

The Nevada State Education Association (NSEA) television commercial that aired last week features a young boy saying into the camera, “Governor Sandoval, why are you destroying our schools?”

To which public school teacher and author Jim Blockey writes:

“This is a child that may or may not be competent to tie his shoes accusing the chief of Nevada of obliterating our schools. Truth be told, it is the Teachers Associations that have executed more destruction than any other entity with their social curriculums taking precedence over academics.”

The commercial is, indeed, as Blockey describes it, reprehensible. Then again, using children as human shields to protect the teachers union from accountability and true, meaningful reform is…well, what they do. They don’t care about our children; they only care about the union.

Do parents “get” that yet?
