Pigskins & Politics + Conserva-Cruise News!

Depending on who you talk to, it’ll be #1 LSU vs. #2 Alabama or #1 Alabama vs. #2 LSU on Saturday.  But no matter how you look at it, it’s #1 vs. #2.  Should be a GREAT game.

And I found a great place up on “Mount Reagan” on the east side of town to watch it: Sunrise Casablana.

The neighborhood bar and grill has a beautiful, covered outdoor patio with a big-screen television and seats with cushions.  You’ll feel like you’re watching the game in your own back yard.

The bar food – which for some inexplicable reason some people now call “comfort” food – is great, especially the Philly cheese-steak.  The beer is cold and they carry my favorite beer, Deschutes Black Butte Porter.

The weather is supposed to be perfect: sunny and 78 degrees.  It just doesn’t get any better than that.

Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 pm.  I’m going to get there around noon.  If you’re in the ‘hood and wanna watch what should be a great game and maybe even talk a little politics between snaps, stop on by.  Here’s the address…

Exciting Conserva-Cruise News

Our brand spanking new cruise ship has left the shipyard!

The Carnival Panorama is now on its month-long voyage from Italy, where it was built, to Long Beach, California, where it will be based.  The Panorama will be the first new ship homeported on the West Coast in more than 20 years.

The maiden voyage for passengers is scheduled for December 11^th – and the annual Citizen Outreach 7-day Mexican Riviera “Conserva-cruise” on the Panorama is set for departure on April 4, 2020.

In its press release announcing the ship’s voyage to its new home, Carnival noted…

“Panorama offers a variety of longtime guest favorites such as a massive WaterWorks aqua park, Sky Ride, the popular bike in the sky with breathtaking views, a suspended ropes course and dining venues like Bonsai Teppanyaki and Guy’s Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse with barbecue favorites from Food Network star and longtime Carnival partner Guy Fieri along with craft beers brewed on board.
